P'derrigerreo originally began a decade ago between friends G Foley and Pierre Plantevin, who performed dadaist skits as Gee'erre. Rhythm section Dara and Theo hopped on and guitarist Chris was recruited from a flyer left in the graphic novel section of the local library. Soon, a band was born, with contributions from Nicole, Gla, and Clara. Dirges, messes, soundscapes, cacophony. Everyone switching instruments between songs. Members of this band live strewn across the states, meeting up for meandering cross country tours, including a 2018 tour of Texas with heroes Being Dead. The group has 4 releases to date; most recently, "Live in (a) Basement" was released on Baltimore label Spleencoffin.
In March of 2020, a tour was cancelled and G and Pierre unexpectedly moved in together in Connecticut. The upcoming record The G is Soft (referring to the pronunciation of P'derrigerreo, an amalgamation of the names of the members of the band) is one of three records made during this period of cohabitation, in which the two developed and recorded a huge backlog of ideas nearly every day, between spells of G’s berry-gathering. This record is the band's most straightforward songwriting after a catalogue of more dense, experimental noise and sound collage, and it's electrifying, playful, saccharine, violent, irreverent, and falling apart at the seams.
